Abu's Reflection

I've learned how to use a blog and I can post by myself. I've become more organized. I like working in my group, it is a lot of fun and as we are now organized it is easier.

Cliff McAulay- I Am So Weary (Song For Refugees)

This is a song called "I am so Weary". It talks about how refugees live and how they suffer. It also shows pictures of refugees needing help and how they live. We thought that this song would make a good background song for our upcoming video. When it's ready we shall show it to you!

Action

Today we had a meeting with Mr. Andy here at KICS. He was willing to help us with our action ideas. . One of our ideas is to contact the UNHCR branch in Khartoum and another organization called Oxfam to talk about some things we can do to help. We could have a non-uniform day at school to and ask student's to donate certain things that refugees need. We could give these donations to these 2 organizations.

A Refugee

This is a refugee that we have interviewed. He comes from Ethiopia and has lived in Sudan for more than 20 years! His story is very interesting. He came to Sudan because back in Ethiopia, there weren't good jobs that would give him a good salary. He figured that if he came to Sudan he would have a better life and be able to get his family some good money. He really misses his family, and as we have told you, he hasn't seen them for more than 20 years.
